Antique Black Floral Tokanabe Mold Pressed Flowering Tree Art Pottery Vase Japan an Antique Japanese Black floral Tokanabe mold pressed art pottery vase. Large in size with two (2) handles, one on each side. This is being sold as is, in need of TLC and repainting. Tokanabe was mold-pressed pottery, made in Japan for the US market in the 1920's and 30's. Tokanabe is typically black with a stippled texture and hand painted raised relief designs. It was distributed through "Five and Dime" Stores like Woolworth's and through the Sears Company catalog between 1929 and 1930. Made in Japan. Weighs 3 pounds 3.3 ounces. Measurements: 4 and 3/8" in diameter (top exterior), 3 and 1/4 " in diameter (inner exterior), 4 and 7/8" in diameter (base). 8 and 3/4" in width, 3 and 1/4" in depth, 12 and 3/4" in height. VERY GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION. Super clean. No damage. A few small chips in base, expected wear to paint due to age. This needs TLC (a patient repainting). This has so much potential!
