Description
This is a vintage film reel with footage of a lady's funeral and a family opening gifts for Christmas. There may be a lot more on this reel. I just didn't look at all of it. I used a photographers loupe in several areas of the film, in order to see what the subject matter was about. I do not own a projector. I'm not sure what type of film reel this is. It measures 7 1/4 inch in diameter. Please look at photos. It says processed by Kodak on it and in several places throughout the reel there seems to be a date which I was having difficulty reading due to the small size. It looks like either 1962 or 1969 or 1965 but please do not hold me to this. It could be 50+ years old! Using a photographers loupe I was able to unwind the film recently. I only unwound about 1/3 of the reel and I could see a lady at a funeral along with other people at the funeral, and further down the reel I could see several people opening Christmas gifts. That's as far as I got. There's still a lot more on this reel. What could it be? Whatever it is, it hasn't been seen for decades. While I was winding it back up the film snapped and broke at some point maybe 1/8th or more into the reel. So unfortunately, the film itself is broken now into two pieces. I just wound it back up into the reel. This can be repaired professionally. This reel was from an estate donation from the St. Petersburg Florida area, and was being sold at a church store circa 2005. No other information about the family or subjects on the film is known.
