A c. 1940’s 16mm film reel, containing various hunting short films, from big game in Alaska to bird dogs in Virginia. ***We are new to Ebay! These are copyrighted short films, not just home movies. I haven't been able to find any other physical or digital copies of these films. *No audio. Black & white footage. This film reel measures 13 3/4'' diameter, which equals roughly 45-50 minutes of film. ABOUT THE FOOTAGE-- 6 SHORT FILMS- - In the order presented: #1- 'Kenai Big Game', copyright 1946. Sterling Films. Footage of big game animals in Alaska's Kenai territory, and footage of the scenery from an airplane. #2- 'Bird Dogs', a Pictoreel Sportoscope short film. Copyright 1938. Produced by Frederick Ullman Jr., Supervised by Fred Donovan. Filmed in Chesapeake, Virginia, this film shows bird dogs as puppies, in training, and more. #3- 'Pheasant Fever', a Sterling Films production, copyright 1946. Photographed and directed by Thomas R. Conlon. An old man and his dogs go pheasant hunting. #4- 'Wild Fowl in Slow Motion', a Sterling Films production. Copyright 1947. ''An opportunity to study American birds in slow motion." #5- 'On the Wing', a Pictoreel Sportoscope short film. Produced by Frederic Ullman Jr, supervised by Frank Donovan. Footage of geese during the fall migration, then a man and his dogs go geese hunting. #6- 'Furs and Feathers in Alaska', a Sterling Films production. Footage of big and little creatures in Alaska, beautiful Alaskan scenery, and a grizzly bear hunt! CONDITION: Acceptable -- Sold as is, no refunds or exchanges. The film is NOT brittle. The film shows splotches of a crackling/crazing pattern. The pictures retain detail and look good. The spool and the case are pretty rusty, and the case shows evidence of having been pried open. It has developed the vinegar-y smell. See pictures for details. Awesome find!
